Welcome to My Recipe blog!
welcome to the my blog, my name is Chef Ava marie and im a proud resident of south san francisco cali, at age 3 was born with autism, but as i older at age 11 i lost my diagonis for good reason, i am smart, cool, sweet and kind chef and person. speech theraphy has helped me where to meet my needs with help of special ed teachers as well. so i started cooking at age 13 and been cooking for 10 years! i worked as prep cook at embassy suites, chevy's restaurant and marriott hotel. i also once volunteered at a cooking class at whole foods market in san mateo, but they close its doors in 2010 and was very disapointed, i been a regular at draegers south san francisco rec and williams-sonoma stonestown mall as a learning student chef and became friends with chef instructors like terri dien, amy fothergill, kelly fong etc. they do great things for their foodie community, so im going to share it with you too! i also create some of my recipes. 2 1/2 years ago i created a qunioa recipe introduce by amy fothergill and started playing around it and my caprese salad is born! so this blog is all about my recipes, my family and friends recipes, recipes with chefs permissin etc, so every sunday will be posting a recipe but will also post a recipe on fridays too! so come join me twice a week as i share recipes from my side of view, so enjoy
Caprese quinoa salad
2-3 cups cooked quinoa (made according to package directions)
2 cups halved cherry tomatoes
2 cups halved mozzarella balls
basil
4 tbl olive oil
2 tbl lime juice
2 tbl agave nectar
2 tbl chopped basil
salt and pepper to taste
in a large bowl toss cooked quinoa with tomatoes and mozzarealla and set aside
in a small bowl toss all dressing ingrdients and mix well
add dressing to quinoa and toss together adjust seasonings and serve with chicken
